hey guys, i'm looking to increase fps on my HP with Intel i5-1235U with Xe graphics. Is it possible to have DLSS or similar to generate more fps?
Hi, Intel Iris Xe integrated is on the list of GPUs that support Intel XeSS, a kind of Intel's version of Nvidia DLSS. However, there are 2 XeSS versions and only XeSS 2 supports frame generation besides resolution upscaling, as per this Intel page: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/discrete-gpus/arc/software/gaming-technologies.html
XeSS 2 is supported by Intel Arc graphics, but I'm not sure about the older Xe.
XeSS availability also depends on the game. Here's the list, but again it only mentions "AI-Enhanced Upscaling", without mentioning frame generation: https://game.intel.com/us/xess-enabled-games/
You can also check out AMD FSR, which supposedly can help with smoothing out fps on any GPU.
Your results may vary depending on the game, but both XeSS (at least the upscaler part) and FSR do generally work on Iris Xe graphics (although it can be buggy depending on the game as shown in the video):
